September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Children battling cancer often need regular blood and platelet transfusions to survive aggressive chemotherapy. Read why Mary and Jeff Botz, parents of cancer survivor, 6-year-old Carter, have not only become regular blood donors, but also sponsor several blood drives each year through KidsCan, a support group they created, along with other families who’ve been touched by childhood cancer.
